The Big Apple Barbecue Block Party is rooted in a deep appreciation for the tradition, culture, and low-and-slow mantra of real-pit barbecue. The 2018 festival features a star-studded roster of Chefs and Pitmasters; we’re talking the absolute best-of-the-best from around the country. Watch as the entire Flatiron neighborhood is transformed virtually overnight into a barbecue-lover’s paradise, with the biggest names in the game setting up shop on Madison Avenue and smoking up that skyline.

Pies ‘N’ Thighs is a beloved restaurant in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood that pays homage to classic American dishes, with an emphasis on comfort. A beautiful culinary collaboration between chefs Carolyn Bane and Sarah Sanneh, Pies ‘N’ Thighs enjoys countless media accolades including Best Biscuits in New York(New York Daily News), Best Donut in New York (New York Magazine), and among the country’s Best Apple Pie and Fried Chicken (Food & Wine and Bon Appetit).A Boston native, the seeds for Carolyn’s mastery of Southern food is rooted in her deep love of barbecue, slow-cooked beans, and all things fried. As head baker, Sarah dedicates her days to the sweeter things (ideally, baked and fried goodness). The pair met cooking at Diner, and prior to that put in time in some of the city’s most celebrated kitchens, among them Marlow & Sons, The Spotted Pig, and Roberta’s (Carolyn), and The Biltmore Room, Marlow & Sons, and Momofuku Milk Bar (Sarah).
